Celebrate Pride All Month Long in St. Pete!

The days are getting longer and St. Pete is getting a little more colorful! June is Pride Month, and St. Pete Pride is celebrating all month long with a calendar full of diverse experiences. Whether you’re in the mood for an outdoor street festival or a cabaret, there’s an event perfect for everyone in the family to celebrate Pride their way.
The Birchwood is a proud ally, and we work to ensure our property is open and welcoming for all. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic Pride getaway or just for some bubbles and brunch before the day’s festivities. Here are a few of the amazing events happening throughout St. Pete, many of which are steps away from The Birchwood.
Once Upon a Shine – A Very Gay Musical Scavenger Hunt – Through June 19
Join St. Pete drag performer favorite Matthew McGee on a campy, sparkly saunter through the streets of St. Pete. All that glitters is comedy gold as you help Cinderella find her missing stiletto. Download the free App (see link below) and join your “Fairy Godmother” as she recounts Cinderella’s wild night. The hunt can be started anytime now through June 19 at 6pm, and begins at 421 4th Avenue N. Allow three to four hours to complete the hunt. The Fourth Independence Day Celebration at St. Pete Pier – July 2-4
Join us at St. Pete Pier for the Inaugural “The Fourth St. Pete Pier Independence Day Celebration” for St. Pete’s biggest Fourth of July celebration. This three-day event features fun for the whole family, including the first-ever St. Pete Pier Run, food trucks and other vendors, live music on the Visit St. Pete Mainstage, a silent disco and other interactive activities. The fun runs all weekend long, 5pm-10pm on Friday July 2, 12pm-10pm on Saturday, and 6am to 9pm on July 4th, culminating in an amazing fireworks display on the waterfront at 9pm. Pride Lip Sync Battle – June 18
Channel your inner Lip Sync Assassin for the 3rd Annual Pride Lip Sync Battle hosted by DJ Shannon C at Dog Bar on June 18, 8pm. Enter with your favorite song at https://dogbarstpete.com/events/lip-sync-battle-form-2/ for the chance to win a prize for best Lip Syncer! Entry is free to the competition, and the cost for dogs to enter (the park, not the contest) are $5, humans are always free.
St. Pete Pridefest – Arts + Qulture – June 19
Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of Pride as St. Pete Pride celebrates queer art, dance and music. Explore The Factory, a new 8-acre mixed-use space in the Warehouse District. This diverse group of performers will fill the space from 4pm-10pm and offer visitors a memorable way to enjoy the many voices of the St. Pete LGBTQIA+ community. Tickets are $5. Sunday Tea Dance at The Garage – June 20

Pride in the Edge District – June 24
Head to the Edge Neighborhood and look for the rainbow windsocks for a family-friendly free celebration with music, specials and Pride-themed activities from 12pm-5pm. Then from 5pm-9pm grab a ticket for Savor the Edge, an outdoor tasting event at Edge Collective Urban Marketplace. Enjoy a myriad of unique food, wine and spirit tastings that benefits a great cause. Pride in Grand Central Block Party – June 26
Join RuPauls Drag Race alum Acid Betty and Kristin W. on the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Central for a Pride Block Party to kick off the final weekend of Pride month. Enjoy eclectic entertainment throughout the Grand Central district from 12p-6pm.
Pride Picnic + Fireworks – June 26
Join us from 2pm-9pm in South Straub Park for an evening celebration to send PrideFest out with a bang. PrideFest’s final weekend explodes with color into the night sky along the beautiful downtown waterfront with a colorful fireworks show at 9pm. Tickets are $5. Paw Proud Fashion Show – June 27
